AMURT UK Covid-19 crisis response in London

VIDEO – Nandita Lovage of Slow Burn Film Productions (slowburnfilmproductions.com) has directed and produced a film depicting the work we did in response to Covid-19 in London:

During the Covid-19 pandemic AMURT UK tripled the number of volunteers we worked with. This allowed us to quadruple the number of vulnerable people we could reach on a weekly basis. We expanded our hot nutritious meal production and began working with new partners to help reach as many homeless and vulnerable beneficiaries in Camden, Hackney and Islington that needed our support.

It was early on in the Covid-19 pandemic that we formulated high nutrient and protein dense snacks, known as Vita Bites, which boosted the nutrition and immune support of those affected by food poverty. Vita Bites were designed to be eaten when our beneficiaries couldn’t find a hot meal as many hot food services had shut down.

We were fortunate to receive a good deal of support for our programmes from several funders who we are very grateful to for enabling us to expand our outreach during the Pandemic.
