AMURTEL Romania

AMURTEL Romania was founded in 1995 by a group of local and international women volunteers. After analysing the needs in post-communist Romania, the group decided to specialise in inclusive education for children with special needs and social services for abandoned children and youth. Since then the chapter has founded a nurturing home for children, two holistic kindergartens in Bucharest, a community-supported agricultural organic farm that provides food and work experience to disadvantaged young people, a youth integration project and the Fountain Of Hope after school centre. Several of the projects have become successful social enterprises.
